IPM — Project Management System

This project was carried out from January 2001 to December 2002 for Ericsson do Brasil. Its team comprised faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students from the Knowledge Engineering Laboratory at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo.

Objectives

Managing complex projects requires computational support for timely project-data analysis, decision-making, communication of decisions, and implementation of actions. The project aimed to: (i) research and develop a project-management system suited to an organization with several large simultaneous projects; (ii) develop a formal project-management process supported by the system; and (iii) build the capabilities needed to create and use the system in a real environment.
